![]() After running that command it cut down to around 3 sec.Įdit2: apparently the graphics settings do affect the game speed after all (even though game speed does not improve when fully zooming in to display as little as possible ingame), despite the FPS being great. Holy moly! A day on my steam deck in 1943 takes around 5 sec for passing 24h at max game speed. ![]() Game will become a bit lagger but holy hell it boosts the speed of the game Open the console and type in "debug_smooth" r/hoi4/comments/tybihl/why_is_my_game_so_slow/i3soa73/ Personally, I would not torture myself playing it without the external accessories as HOI4 is not the type of console handheld game (unlike some jump'n'run game).Įdit: gave it another google and actually found something that helps a lot with this: Still, would be cool if the devs would find some workaround to improve this. I guess there are many calculations running on the CPU for such a complex simulation. I had a lot of people in multiplayer who could barely keep up at speed 3 in 1937. Not just for the steam deck but for any computer. Would be cool if this could be somewhat improved. Yes I mean the game speed, not the FPS/graphics themselves (these run all fine and smooth). ![]() Does not sound like a lot but when you want to skip a lot of days it is rather slow. A whole day in 1939 takes around 3.5 sec. It works all great except that the max game speed in 1939 is about as slow as the max game speed on my way more powerful desktop computer in 1943. I played HOI4 with an external screen, keyboard and mouse only (no HOI4 mods). I finally received my steam deck a bit ago. ![]()
